I am glad that there are black people out there who see the longview and understand the scope of things like Jesse's comments about Obama. Too often--and not just with black people but ALL people--we have blinders on and just "cheer for our team". We choose to ignore flaws and instead prefer to pass blame flaccidly around without any real direction or insight.
I love to see anyone stepping outside of their group to take in a more objective viewpoint, especially in a community as charged and muddled as the black community. I think slowly but surely its starting to even out though. As hypocrisy becomes evident on all sides, people are rubbing their eyes and seeing through the BS.

Good man adio. People are better than petty social and racial boundaries.

Feb 28th post is great, I admire you for trying to make a difference. I grew up in South Florida in the 70s and 80s (born in '73) and most white people I knew (yes even family) were closet racists if not openly racist. It is what people are taught. It is something that has always been hard to deal with, when, for some reason I have never really genuinely felt that way.

I am white and went to a predominately back school K-4th grade. It was rough and I fought ****ed near daily, but I'm glad for it. I got to see both sides, and became friends with people different than me. I now try to teach my kids differently than what I was taught. We have to break the cycle somehow. Education is the answer
