FCC trying to ruin the internet

Read the article and don't get it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Basically its saying that the net neutrality act has been challenged and there are 5 people who will dictate that outcome. 2 of them are in favor of it and 1 opposes it, the last 2 votes in question are to be cast by delegates that have yet to be appointed to their position which means that the fate of net neutrality is in the hands of those in the position to put people in those spots who will vote their way. Doesnt bode well... Net neutrality (forgive me if you already know this) is the idea of treating all network traffic equally, whereas if net neutrality was ousted, then internet providers could throttle whomever they see fit for whatever reason. I.e. amazon isnt time warners favorite streaming service provider, so time warner limits either speed or raw data transfer from their ip addresses. Fun times we might be living in soon if this goes thru. That being said, theres been so many threats to net neutrality in the last several years, im not holding my breath nor worrying too much. Besides, theres always mirroring to other IP addresses to avoid this dilemma.

the internet needs to be completely left alone with just standard practices in place to mitigate risk of monopolies forming overcharging the customers. its happening right now, they're getting rid of legislation that does nothing to help. woah

read further into the legislation, i doubt it actually forces isp's to do anything other than comply with government investigations and data points where they collect it for the NSA

well, id have to read the (likely) 30 bajillion page document to find that out for sure. And i did forget to mention the part where isps can upcharge for access to certain domains. Imagine if everyones isp charged more to access this forum!! :O

yeah only problem/s with it is they could not show as many results for searches and slow speeds on some sites.. I guess isp could charge say ebay and amazon etc to make their sites faster than others sort of like cable and sat tv companies charge tv stations to air their channel..
