fastest way to make a sealed box airtight?

while we are on the "airtight" subject

when i used the gasket that came with my sub....it was no were near being air tight...but when i took it of and used this really strong sealant used to make things water prof my dad had...then everything was sealed....it seems no one has that problem.....

is there any trick i could use?

If you don't mind ugly installs like bassheads put duct tape around the sub.

 
man how big are the gaps u need to fill. if u need expanding foam to fill em, just start over. a air tight box starts with the cuts. everything square. all the peaces glued, clamped and air nailed. ive built a few sealed boxes in my day, and have yet to use anything BUT the wood clue it self to keep it sealed up tights
