I'm not completely sure I understand why people are so in love with Brett Favre. The guy is a bonehead.

Isn't he a former alcoholic?

Isn't he a former painkiller addict?

Didn't he assault his wife?

A lot of people call him the greatest QB ever, which is nothing short of complete BS. Sure, he holds the record for most completions, most passing yards, and most TD's, but he also holds the record for most attempts and most interceptions. Really, he is just a quarterback who throws the ball a lot...especially when he shouldn't.

The fact is that the Packers are an organization that is trying to do long-term planning. Rodgers was their 1st round pick in 2005! How long do you expect them to sit on this guy without developing him? If Favre stayed as the starter for at least one more year, Rodgers would be 26-27 by the time he was making his first start. Even worse, it would be a contract year: how do you possibly make an informed decision on your #1 draft pick and potential future QB when he's only played one season?

Good riddance, Favre! No primadonnas necessary!

Cause hes been saying hes going to leave every season for three years, and were sick of it. Plus all the preparation this season has been revolved around Rodgers who is a great QB and was never given his chance until Favre benched himself in Dallas.

BTW Rodgers only saw about 25mins or so last year but his QB rating is higher then Favres

He's a great qb, but he's never started a game? right. Im just going to disregard the 25 minute passer rating comment (besides, he threw 2 passes like 4 yards and were run 30yds because dallas was in prevent,). I dont care if he says he doesnt want to play until opening day..He got you to the NFC championship game..Any qb that extends your season into the playoff is making your team (buisness) more money. Stupid buisness, and just plain dumb to trust a kid who has never started.

In my opinion, they have shown a total lack of respect for favre.

Man...I love this guy to death but seeing him on Jets is gonna blow. I just bought his jersey back in January.

I received one for Christmas.

In all honesty, I'll be happy just being able to watch him play, but he's in for a rough ride. The JETS are a wild card team at best. The AFC is just stacked with talent. I wish he could have went somewhere else.
