Agreed.

Unfortunately many in the US, and the world are mere sheep. Blindly following one point or one point of veiw, without even so much as considering the alternative.

Having only one veiwpoint results in a narrow mind and a shallow person.

It only takes a little effort to have a look at what the other side is saying.

I'm a strict conservative myself. I voted for and support President Bush.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the job he's doing.

I'm not so blinded to make it clear that I think his policys on immigration, bankruptcy, or spending , are flat out obtuse.

Whatever the case may be in Iraq; we have more than enough UN Resolutions regarding a "use of force" if Iraq did not comply, and certainly ample time for Iraq to hold up their end of the bargain. (As they agreed to in ending Operation Desert Storm.)

Point is, Iraq did not comply with those resolutions.

Yet when we finally call them upon it and take action, we are suddenly in the wrong?

Hypocrites.

Regardless............

Should you agree or disagree with this war, have you stopped to consider the flipside of what this war has reveled?

How about a large UN Corruption Scandal involving several UN Countries........ (Oil for Food ring a bell?)

How about the large scale problems with the regular operations of the UN as a whole?

Now we have a chance to eliminate this corruption within the UN and correct the problems it has, and work hard to bring back credibility to the UN as a whole.

Funny old world huh? Amazing what the flipside reveals.

It doesn't hurt to get both sides of an issue and form your own opinion on BOTH of them. If anything, you'll gain a world of knowledge, and perhaps know yourself a little better.

Being a Conservative, naturally I veiw or listen to Conservative Programming: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tony Snow, etc.

Bet you wouldn't guess that Bill Maher's HBO Series is one of my favorite shows? Or that I actually agree with him on a few issues too.

How about saying that I think Al Franken and Alan Colmes make some darn good points on a wide range of topics? Or that I did enjoy the movie Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore?

Sure Bill Clinton was a "People's President" and made the White House appear more normal (for a time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) I did not vote for him either time around, however, I still accept that amidst much of the problems that he caused, that he did do some darn good work while in office.

Simple point is this: I don't have much trouble entertaining idea's on both sides of the board, nor is it that much of an effort to do so. Why is it so much of a problem for so many others to do the same?

Because unfortunately, we've been conditioned to shy away from moderation towards extremism. When the only points being presented to the public are so diluted and boiled down as to be a "simple" black and white issue (because of course, nothing truly is that simple), it's natural that people tend to gravitate illogically to one side of the argument or another without concern for the other side's points.

Combine that with a sense of political apathy, and you get a very ill-informed and dangerous voting public.

It's a sad fact.

While I was on jury duty I came to realize that it is very easy to be pursuaded one way or another while only seeing one side of things. Thats why there is cross examination to tear all the BS apart. This is why I dont take anything in the Media or other documenteries serious since it is all pretty much one sided information that alot of the time is twisted to make people feel one way about it regardless of what the truth is.

Michael Moore is very biased and everything he says is propoganda. The stupid idiots are the ones who believe him.

The movie sparked some interest in my mind, but about half way through it I got quite annoyed of Moore's narration's and attitude, I mean sure Bush has probably done some dirt in his Presidency career, but what president hasn't, there have been cases of scandilism and corruption throughout the entire history of politics, but really it doesn't directly concern me or you, and as long as it doesn't why should we give a sh!t, as long as the motherf

but America IS the world's police. Its not as if Bush camre up with this idea, or that he even likes the idea of it, he is playing the cards he was dealt. Truman nearly spelt it out in the Truman Doctrine back in the 50's with the policy of "containment" and containing communism...ended up making us the police.

Marshall Plan, 400million dollars to Greece and Turkey, Korea, Vietnam, Cold war, Berlin, Reagan's 2TRILLION dollars on defense.

I mean thats just a couple big events from Truman's plan of containment ^^^

Reagan's is of course his own policy with his two trillion dollars on defense for his Srategic Defense Initiative (SDI) but it was due to the arms race vs. what policy? Communism. And what are we doing with communism? "Containing" it.

so heck, the world police can be traced back 50years, it can probably be traced back furthur, but I cant supply any accurate info. to trace back furthur.

Because he's the President, and the underlying factor here is that the direct power is in the hands of the citizens, not the government. Some Presidential misgivings, like who Clinton ****ed around with in the Oval Office, really has no direct effect on us as citizens. But, if corruption or scandal leads to compromising what's in the best interests of the public at large (a very dangerous concept, I'll grant), you can bet your ass I'll give a **** about it.

For example...if a President has a lot of backing from powerful corporate interests, corporate interests that put a lot of mony in election campaigns thanks to mid '90s finance reform acts, conceivably those powerful private firms would exert pressure on the President to enact favorable legislation. A logging firm is not going to want restrictions on acreage it can cut down by the EPA, nor will a manufacturing plant want tighter controls on emissions or effluent regulated under the Clean Air and Clean Water Acts. Do I care that there's a potential for corporate interests to destroy the environment? Yeah, that's something I care about, and it's something that does directly concern us, every day.

Lobbying is a pox on both sides of the aisle, so don't think I'm letting the left wing go here...

The only reason we rebuilt Turkey is because we used them as a base for our medium-range nuclear missiles, the pullback of which helped to defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis. To this day, we still side the Turkish government when they say that the Armenian genocide "never happened"...

the film was good.. can't believe it all...

bush is bad... but kerry would have been worse.. all my friends hate me for thinking that.. and voting to keep kerry out of office.. not to keep bush in.. and not to waste a vote on a independent runner.

but.. have you seen his other movies.. they are all interesting to watch.. "Bowling for Columbine "and "Roger and Me". I enjoy them as I do any other movie.. just can't believe everything...
