I got some fans for my amp rack to keep my amps cool. They are rated at 12vdc.. The thing is, once the car is turned on the voltage jumps up, so what should I hook up the fans to? Can I just attack the remote turn on wire to the 12v positive and then attach a ground?? If not, do I need to run a wire from my fuse box to the fans? I'm pretty sure that the signal at the fuse box remains 12v even after the car is on, right?
If its only a couple of fans and they dont draw much power i dont see much of a problem with them on the remote wire. If theres alot and theyre big id put in a relay.
