Factory dvd not working ?????

i have an 03 ford excursion. it has the factory overhead dvd flipdown. it worked great with the factory radio. not i have a sony indash tv the factory doesn't work. what is needed to get it working again? the dvd player has power as it will eject and take in dvds. the screen is just black.

Bumbing this back up cuz my friends excursion is in getting a new deck and they cant hook it up cuz of the DVD as well... any ideas?
