Fact or Fiction ?

The only way to know is to take 2 of your cd player that have the same usage on them and pla them the same amount of times on the same electrical system.

Unless you think someone has done that.

It's not likely.

It wouldnt hurt the laser, but it might work the error correction circuits a little more.
NO.. I never get error message on the display. I use quality cdr's (maxell) and burn them at 16x. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I also read that the older 1995-1999 Alpines cd players dont read cdr's very well though.

btw, the video I posted is playing cdr. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It wouldnt be an error message.

All CD players have an error correction circuit built into the control chips on the laser tracking system that reads then re-reads the disc to ensure it reproduces exactly what the disc has on it.

Thats why CD players can play scratched discs

Potentially a burned disc could be considered by the error correction circuit as needing more correction to the digital output that is being sent to the D/A converter in much the same way as a scratched disc.

In any case, it wont add wear to the laser itself.
