sounds exactly like what happened to my friend, except the cop said he was doing 100, and he took his car to the dealership to show that it is limited to 98 or whatever, and got off.

i acatually think they courts are harder on you if you try to contest your case. i was in the court just so i could offer my not guilty plee and people doing 30mph over the speed limit were given a restricted liscence so they could go to work and school. now i go to court and its the same judge and i have proof of the defective speedo and he suspends my liscence. and i have to commute abut 60mile each way to get to work not to mention i have school starting back up at the end of this month. i still have no idea how i will get to school. im just lucky my friend works in san francisco as well and lives a mile down the road from me so he can drive me to and from work.

you must not commute to work. when your stuck in commute traffic 5 days a week going to and from work you dont have to look at your speedometer because youll never get close to the speedlimit. so you really wouldnt notice that the speedometer was off unless you drove on a non work day which i hardly do anyways. i get my fill of driving during the week. and you should have seen some of the crazy sh1t my speedo would do once i started watching it. i would be totally stoped and it say i was doing 30. or be driving on a normal road following traffic and it said i was doing 0. ive also talked to a few other people on forums who have had the same problem with their gauges. you see my speed sensor is right on however its the gauge thats defective. and when your commuting most of the time how are you really going to notice unless somone points it out to you?

Whose fault is it that you don't watch the speedometer?

If you aren't aware of that, how many more problems could be lurking in your truck that you have absolutely no idea about?

Like I said, I would have stifled a laugh in court.

IMO if u cant tell you are going 26 miles over the speedlimit whether there are cars to pass or not then u dont know how to drive in the first place.

I'd think most people would find it hard to believe that you had no clue you were speeding. 90+ in a truck should be pretty noticable. at least imo.

had you license taken away any other times? Can they actually deny a work/school permit? im not saying i didnt break the law. what im saying is that i was making every attempt to obey it and they just dont give a f*ck. heck who knows maybe that was the first day the problem started. they are just so driven to takeing your money from you they really dont care what the circumstances are.

nope i only have 2 tickets on my record now been driving for 4 years. and wiht the amount of driving i do i think thats pretty good. acatually i think the max unemployment is only about $100 less than what i make a week right now. sh1t 30 day vacation! but i still need to go to school and i need my work hours for my raises and pension.
