External Slot Port (pros/cons)

I don't want to order another set of aeroports so the simplest idea I thought of is to add a external slot port built out of spare mdf.

Any pros/cons to this idea?

What program/equation should I use to find out dimensions and tuning.

Use 12Voltz calculator, very easy to use and very accurate.
