Extending wires

i currently have my amp mounted to my back seat and i was thinking of mounting it in my spare tire well and puting a false floor with plexiglass window over it just to clean it up a little bit as long as im in the process of building my new box, would it be ok to extend the power wire and rca's or would i have to run a whole new set?

The RCA's would be easy to extend - simply get a female-female connector.

You have to be more careful extending the power wire so that it doesn't come in contact with metal and short out. Use a non-fused distro block as a pass-through to be safe, or a double-female set screw connector. Wrap electrical tape over the connector, and heat shrink over the tape.

that was going to be my next question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif thanks for the info jack, i will probably go the distro route i plan on knocking this whole project out by sunday just dont have access to a router thats the only thing holding me up that and a couple measurements i got were wrong so i have to go get another sheet of mdf.
