ok i ordered a 180amp alternator, and they said i need to replace my wire to a 4 gauge. i have some spare 4 ga laying around and i was gonna go ahead and upgrade. would i really NEED to upgrade right now? i mean i'm not running any of my audio equipment, just my hu right now. but if i put the 4 ga in, would i need to fuse this or not? i'm not sure how long it will be, but i think itll be longer than 18 inches. plus do they make agc fuses big enough for my application? because i only have an agc fuse holder. sorry for all the questions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you dont have to fuse it. but most people put a fuse on the positive leg of the wire. I've never heard of AGC fuses. do you mean AGU? those only go up to 80A. You need something else.
