Extended Cab Truck Box Builders- COME!!

Passenger seat is wayyyy up. It's kind of a temporary setup because I'm down at school right now and I don't drive all that often. And when I do drive I'm by myself most of the time. But the passengers suffer when they're in there because their knees are up against the dash and none of my friends down at school are into car audio so they complain about the bass and the cramped space....oh well, as long as I'm comfortable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Yea I hear ya. When he was running the 15 the seat was almost all the way up. I guess he got sick of everyone complaining. Thats why he went to the ten. He got maybe three or four more clicks out of it and its louder so it worked out in the end. I can sit and my knees not touch the dash and im 6'0". And with the aero he can change the tuning and burp it if he so pleases.

Numerous options.

Easy/loud: Subs up, port up. Port on driver's side... build a slanted "hood" above the subs...

Another design that is easily swappable as far as tuning and gaining to get the most out of the design...

Build a box that you can rotate if necessary. With enough clearance to have the subs either fire up, backwards (at the rear wall), or downwards (at the floor). Have 4 4" aeroports firing towards the driver sidewall... on the exterior of the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

You can adjust the tuning easily by changing the length of the ports... and also I was the loudest in my truck firing at the rear wall with ports to the side...

How much power do you have? It's better to go with a smaller box, pressure box, to create higher SPL and cram as much power as you can to the subs...

Nothin really just kinda lookin for tips on how to get a reg truck louder. I guess testing out diff boxes is the only way youll really know.
That is correct.

I didn't get to where I am by having other people tell me what to do. I went out there and built and tested.

I gave people general guidelines that got ME loud, but it's up to them to tailor it to their specific vehicle and equipment.

i'll be pushing about 2k-2.5k to each. I want to run a M3 at .5 for competitions, i've been told by several people that subs back would be loudest, but then i couldn't see them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

subs to the rear should get loud

do you want #'s or to be pretty

Then fire up... with ports to the driver side, EXTERNAL. 4 4" AERO's at least...

Use 4 cubes or less net... I'd say ~3cubes...

And since ports would be external, you don't have to account for port displacement...

both lol. i want some good numbers, but i want them to be seen as well since its gonna be my daily driver
That's a stupid answer.

You get the benefit of being loud AND it's stealth. Unless, of course, you like people looking through your windows and being able to see your stuff.

Just build a few different styles and go with whatever one sounds best to you. We aren't going to know what sounds the best to your ears.

We've given you plenty of advice and direction, now go out there and BUILD.

I just snapped a couple pictures of mine and put them in an old thread instead of starting a new one. Here's a link (pics are on page 2):

3 cubes for 2 12's?? That seems tiny to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

if i made it 3 cubes the ports would have to be 35 inches long, i don't think thats gonna work

start buildin boxes! for real, only way to find out for sure. Ive had atleast 5 systems that i can think of in my extended cab, first was 4 10"s sealed and i tried subs forward, subs up, subs down. subs down was noticably louder. as far as ported, subs forward port up was the loudest. once i get my amp working, I'll let you know how a wall with subs forward, port forward works out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
