explorer wiring

Hi, I'm having a little problem with a friends 1996 ford exploer. She had a cd changer in it, now she took that out and put in just a plain jane sony cd player head unit. Ever since she changed it the fuses keep blowing. I took a look at her hook up job but the wiring is a mess. What I would like to know is the color coding ( what wires are for what) on the stock wires on a 1996 ford explorer. Any input on why the fuses could be blowing would also be helpful and apreciated.

Thanx,

JIM

There is somewhere with the wiring, probably the ground wire is matched to a live wire, yes, which you need to do is find out the color scheme, which you can see on the back of the packages for replacement harnesses.

oK what the problem is, is that there is a amp which is in the very back right side panneling i believe maybe left, you have to by pass that when you are connecting it, It is one of your wires to test which wire you have to take like a 9v battery and connect to wires and then decide which are your speaker wires and then its one of the battey wire might want to search web or call local shop its been a while since we did my aunts vechiel so i don't rember exactly good luck

it is your built in amp i got the same vehichle either get the bypass kit for your built in amp or youll have to guess at your wireing its about 20 bucks if you cant figure it out email me and ill get the wire codes at shpw2002@yahoo.com
