Experts please help with HUGE system

I have a basic electronics backround but still need some help...

I've been recruited by somebody to install a system in a car.

Here's the hardware:

It's all PPI stuff

2 DCX 102 10" subs

2 DCX 1000.1 amps for the subs

4 DCX 650S component speakers with passive crossovers

2 DCX 600.4 amps for the above component speakers

2 DEQ 230 EQ's (I don't know why but they wanted them)

questions:

Stock alternator ain't gonna work, is it? Should I add another battery? at 4ohms this system is 2400 watts which by my calculations would require a total of 300 amps? This car is only a year or two old.

The subs show a RMS of 1000 Watts at "Dual 2 Ohm". The amps for these subs say they can do 600x1 at 2 Ohms or 1000x1 at 1 Ohm! What should I use?

Everything else I've got figured out.

Thanks for the help guys!

well the general way to do it (as well as how I have mine) is to run a fused power wire from the battery under the hood to the extra battery in the trunk, and run fused power wires from the amps to the battery in the trunk, and do a single ground from the battery in the trunk. Then run the ground wires for the amps to your decided ground spot

also there is controversy on running battery isolators, some say use them, some say don't, I do not use one and haven't had any problems for the last 6+ months, I have determined that the only necessity in using one is if you are running two different kinds of batteries, so my advice would be use two of the same batteries

Id spend a little more and get a new HO alt before a new battery. If your current alt cant keep up with one battery its going to have a hard time keeping 2 charged.

Wire each woofer parallel and run them at 1 ohm off of the amp.

Cap is useless.

Goodluck all PPI must have cost a pretty penny!!

and dont forget to do the big three

With two 1000x1 amps and two subs, how would you run this in parallel?

Do this to each sub, then bridge the amp.

Since the system is pushing 3000 watts and over 300 amps should I run a ground wire between the batteries and also from batteries to the amps?

Thanks,

JW
