First of all, I would like to take the opportunity to apologize on this forum and through this group buy thread to Nathan. He built a 200 amp alternator for my 2002 Mazda Protege' 5 and it never worked. I became quite disgruntled of course and did not make positive recommendations on this forum because I thought that the alternator did not work because of something on Nathan's side. It turns out that I was completely wrong. For some reason the "brilliant" freaking engineers at Mazda thought that it would be cute to 1) require a two part voltage regulator (the first obstacle) and 2) to basically hard code on the ECU the expected voltage and amperage output of the alternator. Even if Nathan figured out the two part voltage regulator which I'm sure he could, there was no way he could forsee such an idiotic ECU setting. My sincere apologies go to Nathan and his company. Nathan, if you think you can help me trick the ECU then I am willing to give it another try??
