Excelon - dim screen!!!!

I recently installed a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X790 and the screen is too dim to read in the daytime. Does anyone know how I can increase the brightness? The manual doesnt offer any help.

My older eXcelon is the same way, nothing you can do other than change the font to white, but still a ***** in bright sun light...
