What kind of car ? Just got my new fuse blocks in so I'm going to strap my Orion's and see what they can do. So far single 18 tuned at 32 I did a 149.0 on one Orion 2500. Once the rain goes away and it's nice out I'm going to clamp and see what power the sub is getting.
my lil work car is a kia optima in hte trunk facing forward not sealed off. burping at idle which is like 12.8 because my alt needs to spin 800RPM. i did a 141.1 reving it to 2000. like i said sealing off usually gives a good 2 DBs and tuning up around the peak is usually good for another 2 Dbs. at least in my experience its around there.

a guy here has one HDC4 on a pure audio 5kw doing 149 and some change. 6tth order BP. around 32 33 hz as well. anything above 145 in a trunk with 1 15 or 2 12s is IMO decent ESP if its tuned for music. if i make a fart box i'm sure i can get into the 150s but i like music. lol

why you selling that amp? if it does rated i would be interested in getting it. i need to get 2k clamped and do 148. positive i can swing that! i want to put a real 3kw to it to see its limits. its laughing at the power im giving it.

like this im SURE its 143-4 at the head rest its so much louder like this at the head rest than the 144 maybe ts just the frequency. but it meters best all the way against the trunk on the dash and in the kick too. we did dash kick both sides but it had the globe so its lower. he clams in the kick door open is generally as loud as sealed up legal without the globe. no matter where i put it was a tenth or so different never more than 2 tenths sealed or all doors open! i remember the kick be noticeably louder but it wasn't if any this new huge globe changes everything..

sad part is a 148 gets you high up the ladder with the exception of the guys which 3 15s and 2 18s in hte trunk and the single 18s that are one frequency burp boxes.

Na I'm not selling my amp I wanna strap another one together. I hear you on the music aspect also I'm not really into chasing numbers but do like a baseline of where I'm at.

Its a prototype i built. built to sound good and have a ton of power handling/displacement.( i could even get it hot with the power i have on it. its about 86db 1w1m so its a power hog) i need a solid 2.5kw clamped to make it ****. it has ruffly 22mm xmax overhang with a 42mm topplate. if you use the typical dumax calculation close to 32mm so its LOVES the 40 and under.. its versatile though i'm gonna slap a 3" 4 layer(might do a 8 layer is the mms and OD is right) dual 1 ohm 65mm coil on it and a lighter pressed cone to make it abit better for comps..

i'm kinda nervous about going to the brazilian but i see they do good numbers in installs.

yea moved the box around and it sounded a lot quieter at the head rest but did 2db better on the meter. i think just about even system ive had always did better at the headrest.

with exception to the 9515 i had it metered well but ****** at the head rest..

You should pick up a SPL lab meter. Great little tool to have. Love mine
i will. i just been spending thousands on building drivers. im satisfied though its definitely a excellent sub its just a dual 2 made to sound good and its very nice. that being said no one is paying 650 bucks for a SQ sub that needs 4kw. even as is if it where a dual 1 the coil length will change a bit to compensate for the BL shift) it would easily compete with anything on the market at that price and ill be will to bet sound better. but its time to slap a short 8 layer coil and see if its SPL comp worthy ill be ecstatic if it works out because i could save a ton of money buy using geico for my home and car insurance..

You should do a comp port and a daily port. Nice daily sq but still throw down some numbers

If i even get around to getting my credit good Id like to use the same platform one for a SQ/daily/street beat(the same as what i have now) and them use the old 4 spoke with a custom heatsink/spacer/cooling ring and 9.25 spiders. i know its only about 28mm rearward clearance but for SPL 25mm Xmax is usually more than enough..

What are you doing to get better efficiency than 86? Tighter coil options? Wish we lived in a world that subwoofers were just twice as efficient as they are and thats not asking much. Would love to do 60s off 2k.
