sue me, its a ford.
They knock in about 2.5 cubes each sealed lightly stuffed on about 600-800 rms each, great sounding high excursion woofer surprised the hell out of me, drops low around 28-30hz without much distortion puts the kicker cvr's to shame in the SQ department, and has a nice dupont spider with thick woven leads, and a 3" coil. They sound like wet fart ported however, either the spider is too stiff or too soft, just not made for low tuned ported enclosures. They take a while to break in as well. For around $100 a woofer, pick one up sometime, you might be surprised...

They're all over the place here in Tulsa! Half of the Craigslist ad's are for QPower's. They're really not bad.... I was surprised. There is 2 different Deluxes though... There's a really crappy new one that doesn't have the nice stitching around the cone like the original ones did.

QPOWAH!

Thats because they are rebadged over runs or refurbs of low end garbage from larger manufacturers.
Do your research on the Deluxe line, if you care to take the time to research a flea market brand, like I did. Its not a rebadged kicker comp like the Q comps... I personally know a distributor from texas who is an EE and ME who contacted "Qpower" and gave them some constructive criticism pretty much and we have discussed several aspects of the design and build process of the Deluxe woofer... That was definately one of the reasons the Woofer was redesigned around 2004 (IMO) with the white stitching and revised bump plate. Yes, it uses generic parts like you say, but isn't that the standard of the main stream? I'm sure quality is overlooked, but hey if it's warrantied... I went through about 8-10 over the years testing and being a teenager and never blew one, thats what we ran in high school, the SQ was worse to say the least then.

Ok now that my subs are broke in, I have been doing some thrashing trying to find weak points. The first model with no stitching would eventually fail, the surround would become unglued from the cone, or the coil would unwind where it goes to the leads, or pole piece or something would hit the backplate, making a loud tapping noise. With these issues addressed, with the new deluxe, its a pretty dam good sub now, had one taking 1400 rms for a while, sounded good, but it got too warm, Im gonna try 2000w~ to the pair soon. Remember, this is in a sealed enclosure, they most likely would have failed in a ported enclosure already.
