ever buy anything 'factory renewed'?

have you ever bought comp sets factory renewed? i got the 6.5 Kicker SS652 set, in my sig. bought it last night. after shipping it came out to 260ish. ive seen them go for 400-800.00 for the set. well this worries me, having it being factory renewed.. what does that mean exactly? theyve been abused, and could blow the day i get them?

*edit* i called kicker. they say they should be brand new, never installed. just something they got sent back to them, which got put on sale. i was just the lucky one to get it for the price i did hehehe //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif 260 compared to 700.00 -- not bad :afro:

It means that it has been refurbished...or repaired. I have bought 2 amps from Ikesound.com that were like this. Most factory renewed items have a 90 or 60 day warrenty. Both of my refurbished amps are still going strong...both have been running for over 1 year now.

Factory renewed means they have been refurbished to new condition. Might have been a bad tweeter or xover and was repaired replaced. You shouldn't have a problem as long as the factory renewed them. Some people like refurbed over new cause they have been "broken in"

You could always blow them one day, but the same can be said about new as well. Just power them how the mfr recomends

i tend to like factory recertified better than regular

they will replace the parts if anything physical scratching/damage is there, so it definitely LOOKS new

and they will bring it up to "new product" specifications

so if it doesn't work they will fix it and test it til it does

you KNOW you are gonna get something that works lol and thats been babied by some technician

i bought an ipod from apple like that and they replaced the entire outer casing so it was as brand new as i cared for it to be. and cheaper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif $$$$$

Factory refurb in my eyes just means they checked it over twice.
