Ever been to family court? Need Help!!!

that's what I am kinda hoping for... But my only real concerns now are, 1. Is there a potential of having some kind of thing show up on a criminal record? and 2. If there is, do I need a lawyer?
If this is something that doesn't show u on any kind of record or anything ever again, then I'm ok with it and won't even waste my time on a lawyer...
You do need a lawyer. There is no telling what the child's mother will make up to make you look like the bad guy here. Even though you spend your time helping kids, which is a good thing, if they even accuse you of molestation or something to that effect, kiss those opportunities goodbye.

IDK, the courts tend to err on the side of protecting children. To be perfectly honest, I have my doubts as to whether we are geting the whole story.
Oh yea, I know that they may tell him not to hang with the kid and etc, but I don't think they will put a restraining order on a guy for doing volunteer work.

Actually, in the light of such an accusation then that volunteer work starts to look suspicous.

No, but if he is under investigation for something involving a minor, they may do an injunction prohibiting him from doing volunteer work or being in contact with any children at all.

Take for instance, a friend of mine's brother slept with a 15 year old girl. Thus he has a stat **** charge...he cannot be in the house with his nieces and nephews because he has a charge. I am certain that the mother could call him a molester and the courts would step in on those activities...

I'm somewhat uncertain of everything myself, but I'm not lying on my involvment... The court papers I recieved even read like this... "applicant: Minister of Community Services"; "respondant: (the mother)". And my name isn't mentioned at all until midway through 1 of the paragraphs... It seems like a case between the girl and the courts and she must have said something about me... Quick background on this girl; she lost custody of her child twice now (when the child was 8 months old until 16 months... and then again last month and she is still without her child).

You need to figure out how you are involved. Unless you know how to navigate the system, you need to hire a lawyer.

For future reference, you need to be more careful about kids. Unfortunately, the risk of false allegations is real. I don't allow my kids to have friends over if their mother is not going to be here. If I take their friends home, my kids go along for the ride.

You never know when some kid's father has abused them. If they go to a doctor and the doctor sees evidence of abuse, who is to say the kid doesn't blurt out the name of someone else as opposed to the monster who lives down the freaking hall from them who they are scared to death of?
