Equipment Repairs. How much generally to get an amp fixed?

Im gatherring all of amps together this weekend and I am going to bring them to a place that is dedicated to fixing car audio amps. I was just hoping to get a baseline, the place does free estimates so thats good, but Id like a ballpark. Im sure its differnent for each amp.

Heres what Im bringing

Visonik VX4000D- I low volted it and the amp went into protect, burned up the fets, probably all have to / will be replaced

Kicker KX 650.4 - gives static /wierd noises, powers up and what not just fine, was told it was a common kicker "ground fault" problem I believe (broke 2 years ago)

Soundstream PCA2000D - just bought off a member off here, hope to get it in a day or two, this is what he said about it "So the amp powers up and the green light goes on and it makes a squealing noise and that is it... I dunno if its the fan or what... The board is spotless with no burn marks."

Any ballpark numbers for the damage on these amps?

Well Ive been storing all these broken amps and just buying new ones when they blew since im in canada and everytime I asked around, nobody knew of a shop, until one day some guy mentionned a shop about 40 min from me in Toronto called S&S Electronics. SO Ive got a place, just need a ball park on what I should expect to pay, so I can decide whether or not to fix them

get a price from the shop you are taking them too, and stop making threads just to make one.

I will get a price. But like most people dont want to be gouged, as I dont know what the typical cost of a repair is. Is there something else we should be talking about in general discussion?

don't bother with the visonik. Db-r won't even touch them

anymore.

Well I tried to run the visonik before, but I low volted it I guess, was stock battery and alt (110amp) with 0 gauge power. No big 3. Didnt have a volt gauge so I dont now the voltage

Now Ive got 2 new bigger batts, 2/0 power wire, big 3 in 2/0. And a voltmeter.

Im thinking if I fix it I can run it for 2500 @ 2ohm, it would be worth it for me if it was less than $300

Or I could either fix the Soundstream2000 and I would then have 2 of those. 2000@1ohm rms each

Kickers getting fixed probly no matter what I dont think that one will be to expensive.

Oh, it was I either run that @ 2ohm and give my Aq (4)2.5 15's about 700rms a piece. Or wire each pair to a soundstream pca2000D. Either way an amp has to get fixed, maybe both.

That visonik will cost about $150-200 in a 100% mosfet swap.

I don't know about the Kicker.

The 2k usually runs about $50 to $70 depending on the specific fet.

Remember, this is just raw mosfet cost.

Looks like a may end up just running the visonik if it comes down to costing THAT much to get the soundstream fixed

Thats just what I am told for a reason Db-R wont fix them. I priced one that had 28 fets blown about a year ago and it was 250 all said and done. I was told chances are the power supply is gone to. Not sure if it applies to you too.
