prolly cause that would take a long *** time if you got a few hundred songs that lack bass.if thats what it is, why not just use sound forge or some other software on your computer and put in the notes yourself... then just burn them onto a cd and go from there, why buy actual hardware?
yeah, that epic-160 is almost friggin 200 on egay...thats pricey. but still, i know id like 1 of these. i had some songs with decent bass, i ripped em to 128kbs and the bass died...and now i never listen to them anymore lol. so yeah, i think this would be a good investment for me.True, but it's free. I don't really like songs that lack bass anyways, so it wouldn't bother me lol.
it doesent, it is an audiocontrol product, so the mic is compirable to an audiocontrol, kind of...how does the mic compair to the TL?
well do all epicenters act like that? how many different kinds have u used? cause i got alot of old ACDC and metallica that could use some bass also a collection of old hip hop and many other old songs. and is this another 1 of those never ending arguements like "should i use a cap?" ?it doesent, it is an audiocontrol product, so the mic is compirable to an audiocontrol, kind of...
its much cheaper than na audiocontrol RTA, much smaller, and its more of an integrated unit than an RTA. its good for giving you a rough idea of how loud you are, but it really wont tell you much as far as competition use. its does give the "wow" factor that can be kind of cool on the street though.
as for the bass restoration, i really dont care for it. on some tracks it can make a significant difference, but probaly 95% of the time it just makes the bass obnoxiously overpowering, and it can even do it on those tracks that could use some bass restoration(they are rare). but if you like listening to almost all bass and nothing else, then they are cool.
well if the epic -160 sux, whats a good epicenter?i know aloot about epicenters...and personallythe epic-150 and 160 is trash...the only value they have is the volt meter..thats it
the db meter is so in accurate its not even funny..its not calibrated ...its 5db's off from the ac 180 mic...so it has to be atleast 8db's off from the tl mic
and the most misunderstood thing about the epic.......it has a built in line driver so it boost the signal...so when u restore bass u can hear it.....IT DOES NOT ADD BASS
it restores lost bass..meaning if a song like snoop doggs drop it like its hot is playing(a song that has a consistant 58hz signal)...and u slowly turn the epicenter knob (restoring the bass slowly)
it changes the higher frequecies to drop an few octaves...the more u turn the knob the more the octaves drops...turn the knob to much and watch your cone seperate from the surround...or the spider might come apart ..or worst case...listen to your voice coil slap the backplate so hard the voice coil might come thru the dustcap...so u have to use caution when using this device.....

the bx-10 is nothing like the epic..its a copy cat just the like the audiobahn bass driver...there line drivers with bass eq's they dont restore anything just add bass...
why is this one any better than the others? i do like the idea of one that isnt mounted in the dash though. cause i really didnt feel like fabbing up a new mounting kit.the trunk mount epic....they still sell it...heres wat it looks likehttp://mobileaudiocontrol.com/product.asp?Product_Id=14165&d_Id=5249&l1=5249&l2=
i love this one...
u can open it up and change the volts according to the size of your subs
