i have very little room to work with so i have decided to go with two 8's. the outside dimensions of the box can be no larger than 32''wide x 20''deep x 9'' tall. i want the subs and port firing up towards the convertible top area with the subs and port closer to the back seats. if this is enough space to make these subs sound good ill pay someone for an enclosure design.

ok so i jumped on a calc really quick. its gonna be hard as hell to do a slot port depending on the freq. i could only get it down to 51hz safely. with enough port area. your best bet is to do aero ports.... i have a decent box drawn up for you that will fit. its tuned to 43hz. with 1.8cuft before sub and aero port displacement. so you would be looking at around 1.5 after everything

thanks for the quick responses. i just wanted to add that this is for daily use and is not for spl or competition it's just for music and i want the bass as loud as possible but still clean for any type of music. im gonna run a sundown 1000d or 1200d depending on what is reccomended so they'll be seeing 500-600watts rms each.

600 rms is a lil too much for these IN MY MIND. some ppl depending on box design can run a little more to these but you only need to put 300-400 rms to these to make them reach xmax. some people would argue with me but i like my equipment to last? just saying

for a regular ported box run 1cf after displacement and get as much port area as you can, they like big ports.

as for them not taking power make a good box..... my sa8's take my d9 @ 2ohm with out a single problem daily great response down to 30hz and up to 70ish (currently in a huge tapped horn)

Like OP stated, there are radios with higher power output. Most radios have around 18 watts RMS per channel. They mostly claim 50w per channel but...
