enough power?

Well you have a lot of room either way. I'd go with a solid 18" sub and run 1000-1500 watts to it. Something like the Mach 5 IXL or Fi SSD would be good options. Then for a good budget amp you can run the Soundstream DTR1400.1.

If you want to do something different, six of these off the more powerful version DTR would be cool. At only $55 a pop when buying 4 or more, can't really beat these subs.

i already ordered the 3 w0s..but RAM, is that soundstream true power?
Yes, it's real RMS power. The thing that sucks with the three 4ohm subs is the odd ohm load. It's a little too low for a 2ohm stable amp, and a little too high to get the most power out of a 1ohm stable amp. Getting a 1ohm amp that's a little more powerful than you need is the best way to go, it'll be better fgor the amp and better on your electrical system.

the subs are 500 rms each, would i be safe running that much power to the three subs?
Yes, the amp won't be able to do a full 1500 at 1.33ohms, so you should be fine. Just be careful with them at first, look at how they're playing and see if you're pushing them too hard. Look out to see if maybe you're pushing the amp too hard and it's getting too hot.

what rms should i expect at 1.33 ohms to three subs? at a 500w rms rating i think i'd be scared to run them at a high rms..
Maybe 1300-1400, you'll never see that kind of power when playing normal music though, maybe just for short peaks in the music. If they're rated at 500 RMS they should be able to handle that amp fine so long as you have everything set right and aren't overdriving the amp to the point where it's clipping and sending dirty power to the subs.
