Enough Amp?

I am about to get a memphis system in my car. I was just curious if the memphis Mclass 16-MC1.250 which is a 250w RMS@2Ohm along with the Bass 2.2 signal processor, is enough amp to push two 10" memphis PR subs. It should sound fine as long as you set your gains accordingly. Too high, and you could very well cause damage to both your subs and amp.

Is 250 watts enough for (2) PRs? No.

With that power, I would get a (1) PR(D4) and wire it down to 2 ohms.

But if you're set on getting 2 and plan to upgrade to a bigger amp, then running 2 would be fine. Just, once again, set your gains accordingly.

Well. I used to run (2) PR 12s on a Memphis 500.1 amp

It did about 600 at 1 ohm. I got it for around 180.

There are cheaper things out there that would work just as good.

I believe you can look into some hifonics on the internet for around 140-150 for the power you're looking for.

If you get (2) dual 4 ohm subs, yes.

BTW, I don't know what kind of subs you've heard so I don't know how loud/clean you really want to get. But just to let you know, they do get pretty loud for 250 watts a piece.

I would def. put them in a sealed box to sound cleaner than ported(not saying ported isn't clean).

ok man thanks that is what i was thinking by reading some diagrams. But it does not make sense to me that the guy at the memphis dealer said they will hook up two 10s DVC, and hook up to the 250D Mclass amp, but the specs on that amp cannot handle 1 ohm load. So that is where i am confused.

I hate most dealers. Most of the stuff they install don't sound great.

When I got a car alarm installed, this guy let me hear his stuff. He had 2 Hypnotic 15" subs, pushing 3000 watts. He didn't know what he was tuned to. But he maxed out his pioneer deck(volume up to 60) and I was still no where near impressed..........until I put 1000 watts on my HDC3, ha.

The PRs could've taken him down with moderate effort.

Have you looked into image dynamics or RE subs at all?

Yeah, that amp would be perfect for (2) PRs at 1 ohm. If money is not an issue(cause that amp is expensive) then go for it.

I am just one of those ppl that like everything the same company plus the whole warrenty thing as well. Also i have a jl 10" W6 for sale if you know anyone had it for about 2 years. Runs perfectly.

I agree with you there. I was going to run all memphis too but my PRs got stolen so I went the audioque way, lol.

PM me the price on that sub. I'm not too interested but i've never owned a 10" sub.

I used to run a JL audio 15W0 for over a year.
