engineering...

2nd year EE at Tech. Good stuff. It was just something that interested me.
Freshman year sucks, that's why so many people drop it. Just wait until you get into the more specific classes, and try to get involved. I work at WUVT, the campus radio station, and I learned more hands-on stuff there than I have in school or on my own. Internships are also nice because they give VERY valuable work experience...Rockwell Automation for me.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
you go to texas tech? in lubbock? i'm transfering there next summer, to be closer to my hometown (odessa). pursuing that 150 hr (5 year) masters program in EENG :) already in the process of getting the degree at U of North Texas.

i am going to stick it out through my first semester... and i know it would be a good degree to have, but my heart just isnt in to it.

take this for instance, my engineering class is tuesday and thursday mornings for two hours each day. i don't pay attention because it just doesn't interest me. however, my state/local gov't class is three days a week, early in the morning, and i always pay attention, take notes, etc, because i like it.

oh, and maledecido, i think he may have meant virginia tech, not 100% though. all i know is ttu is going to get their *** handed to them this weekend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif gig'em!

hah, good thing im not quite a tech fan yet, huh? no matter what, i'll always be a longhorn fan! just try and gig them! haha no way no how! i'm just down the road from you up in denton, at the university of north texas. we're conference champions 4 out of the last 5 years :) D1 school, in the Sub Belt conference.

anyways, im an EENG major, so if u ever need any advice or any help or anything, let me know. what school you at? im assuming somewhere in dallas, by ur profile.

i'm a junior ME an the uofm (minnesota) and so far i'm only on my third lib art class! hahah, all science all the time.

this semester i decided to take 5 classes and i'm not liking it at all. i think i have 3 weeks with 4 tests! not to mention how much fun finals is gonna be.

i didn't take calc in high school and that first year of calc and physics really killed me. also i dropped multivariable calc and had to re-take it in the summer, which was a huge pita and cost me a lot of money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif not recommended.

well, good luck whatever direction you take!

954runner... Im in the exact same situation as you. Engineering is kicking my *** so bad and I would love nothing more than to switch over to Econ or SC Law where I understand everything. Im stickin with it atleast this first year though because if I end up likeing it after all, I would absolutely love to get a job with the local BMW or Michelin(sp) plant. Im at Clemson btw.

I feel that way and I'm a Junior. When you get out of school and into the field it gets alot better. I used to be a poli-science major. I couldn't imagine arguing politics all day being more fun than being part of sending man to the moon, working on engines, designing tvs, etc etc. Once you make it through Physics 2 (or whatever the last basic Physics course you have at your school) you'll really know if Engineering is what you want to do. It's the best precursor to all your engineering courses. The study habits really kick in there and if you dread that class, chances are you'll dread anything further in engineering.

haha, i'm at the wonderful, Texas A&M University. wouldn't ask to go anywhere else in the world!.

thanks for the help guys. i really think that changing my major is going to help me out. i'm sticking with it to the end of the semester, then getting it changed. i'm going to do some reading as to what exactly i want to change it to.

If your quiting that easily stay out of business because you wont last as upper management, its alot more stressfull than engineering is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

quit being a *****. You have only been in school a short time and are making a snap judgement. As stated above the classes you are taking now don't show you anything about engineering. If the classes you are taking now make you want to quit then you might as well drop out of college all together. I can say this since I am in my senior year of computer engineering.

Thats what my BIO professor told us... its gonna be hard as fuk... but we will all go to med school and become nurses and physicians and dentists IF we really want to.

great 12 challenge? i have no idea what it is but it sounds badass. what/when/where and all that info?

I think I love tube amps now. My physics teacher apparently builds them on his free time and brought one into class. Sexy sexy seyx.

Yeah, at least Beamer is finally cracking down on the players for doing anything against the grain.

Tube amps? I love playing with the one on top of Lee Hall that's bigger than my head.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
