Hi Everyone,
I have just registered at this site. I have already ran through a few of the posts pertaining to my problem and found everything that I have already tried n tested. I will list down the few thingz that my audio system consists of.
1). Kenwood head unit
2). 2 x 180 watt Pioneer speakers (front doors)
3). 2 x 440 watt Kenwood speakers (Rear)
4). 2 x 1300 watt Sony Xplod woofers
5). 1 x 400 watt JBL Amp for the speakers
6). 1 x 800 watt Orion (west Coast Customs) Amp for the woofers.
7). 1 x 1 Farad capacitor for the Orion Amp.
8). Power connections using 8Gauge Monster cables.
9). 2 x 2 Channel RCA (Monster cables)
Issue is as follows.
My system was running on the Orion Amp for quite some time. At this time the speakers were not connected to any amp. I decided to change the head unit and install a new one along with an additional Amp for the speakers.
I bought a Kenwood head unit replacing the old Kenwood head unit. The first head unit was installed by the dealer. When I bought the new head unit I noticed that the clip to connect the wires were the same as that of the old one. So the easiest thing here to do was to unplug the clip from the old one n plug it in the new one. This is exactly what I did.
Things were fine when I switched the car on. However, when I turned my aircon on the rear speakers started giving an irritating whine which increases as I accelerate.
I read through various websites n did almost everything I could have possibly done.
1). Changed all wiring to monster cables.
2). Shifted the RCA’s to run from the other side of the car to keep it away from Power cables.
3). Tried to ground head unit, Amps and Capacitor at the same place. This increased the whine so I put em back to their original ground.
4). Last but not the least, some one said that the rear speakers were faulty and I got them changed.
So now finally I’m left with no options but to ask for some more advice as I could not diagnose the cause of the whine. I even purchased a ground loop isolator on ebay on the 27th of March which till date has not reached me.
If u guys can help please do so……
