Engine Noise

I have a Pioneer Dehp5000ub deck in my car. I have 4 infinity kappa component systems in my car (4 tweeters and 4 woofers) powered by a Eclipse 4 channel amp. Then I have a JL W3 sub powered by a MTX amp. Awhile back I had engine noise really bad. It was a high pitch squeal that was terribly annoying. I searched everywhere for a way to fix it. Finally someone told me to strip a wire and wrap it around the rca plugs in the back of the deck to ground it. It worked like a charm! So now the noise is coming back but its more like a static/buzz noise. People said it could be a blown pico fuse or it could be the rca plugs. Any ideas of what I can do??

if you can switch rcas try that first. if that doesn't work try switching HUs. Check to see if that wire is still wrapped around the rcas too. And check the voltage going to the HU. I had noise with one of my jvc decks and it turned out to be a bad ground.

So i tried a friends head unit and the noise was still faintly there which i was told may just be from the amp. I tried grounding my original deck to the battery and the noise is still there. Im not sure if i should just buy a new head unit and ignore the noise or if there is anything else i can do. My deck now indeed has the pico fuses blown

your HU should be grounded at the same place as your 4 channel amp, and what source are you using? if its an ipod, does the noise go away on other sources? Digital media only sounds as good as it's bitrate... also check your amps and make sure they are set properly... infinity runs a lower impedance on some models around 2.66 ohm... meter your speakers and see if you've blown one...

also check and see if the noise comes from all 8 speakers or just the tweets or woofers... if the noise comes mostly from one speaker or tweeter then it, or its crossover may be toast...

also you could try unpluging one rca at a time and listen to see if the sound changes from rca to rca

This is always the problem with pioneer decks i had the same problem with mine. look up grounded rcas in google images its the first pic

Yeah man I already have had the rca's grounded for a month or so like that. The speakers arent blown because I had this noise with my old MTX speakers as well. The noise stays the same on XM, Ipod, CD, AUX 1 and FM tuner. Im to the point of just getting a new kenwood or alpine deck and praying that it solves my issue. Its so **** annoying in the morning when I have the volume down low

eliminate the sources one by one.

replace the deck noise goes away thats the problem

try another RCA cables(all of them) noise goes away, they might eb blown or squished by pannel somewhere.

wheres yuor power cable running?

is there any other factory power cables or electrical devices(fuel pump etc)

unplug the rcas from the amp check the ground for the amp

Okay so I went to Best Buy and dropped $90 on 2 rockford fosgate dual twisted rca's. It made the noise go down a little but not totally. Im thinking a new deck and these rca's will do the trick. My power is running down the drivers side and everything else is down the passenger side.

Yep i grounded it and nothing happened. I also unplugged the rca's from the amp and powered it up. The noise was completely gone. Im not sure what thats telling me but the noise was vanished.

that means its not the amp

now plug the rca back in the amp and disconnect the unit and power it up if the noise still there its the rca if the noise is gone then its mos tlikely head unit.

Yeah when I put the different deck in which was still a pioneer, the noise was alot less so hopefully a different deck with my new rca's will fix it. Any recommendations on a deck?
