engine noise

i have a car that i bought that already hade everything wired. i am getting major engine noise. how do i fix it. some one said it could be the grounds and someone else said it could be my amp.

how far away should everything be grounded?

best bet is to ground directly to the bat.

It's probably your head unit. It could be your amp, but probably your head unit.
