Engine feedback from preamp/equalizer

I have had my system for a little while and after I put in my clarion eqs746 preamp and new kicker 5 1/4 compound speakers I have really loud engine feedback. When the preamp is in the trunk and all the connections are directly in the amp the feedback virtually vanishes. Now it's back in my dash the feedback is even worse then ever, my ground and constant hot wires are both directly wired to the amp (amp is wired to the battery) the only thing I haven't changed is the remote wire (still using the remote from factory stereo) please help I have put alot of time into this setup

maybe theres a ton of feedback in the ground from the factory headunit or some other accessory, check the headunit ground. try grounding its case.

or just put the eqs746 in the back

power wire opposite of the RCAs? Tried new shielded rcas yet?

I don't have a headunit right now, I have a aux to rca hooked up to the preamp, preamp to the amp. The preamp is grounded to the same place as the amp, very low resistance I checked. As for being low on funds I had to Jerry rig 2 pairs to make them longer. I'm in the process of getting new rcas but when I have the aux running straight to the ano the feedback is almost gone like the preamp is amplifing it. I used to have the preamps power ground and remote all connected to the one from the factory head unit, with no feedback. I changed my speakers to more powerful ones and the feedback got louder. I ran a hot wire from the amp to the preamp and it went away. About a week ago it became more prevent so I regrounded the preamp and it got alot worse. It can't be the pre amp because when it's connected in the back with the amp no feedback. All I can think is it might be my remote wire, as that is the only wire still in the factory harness
