Alpine old school DSP EXA-G370 - what was it designed to do?

I have this Alpine EXA-G370 that I originally bought as an Ai-Net connectable equaliser to pair up with a CDA-7949e and for years it's worked fine.

There are two inputs that interested me though, "composite in" and "park brake". The composite looks like a video input and the park brake assumingly is to ensure the park brake is on before something is triggered to operate. My question is, what? Or what is it capable of?

The display is a simple equaliser not a full blown video capable display. Has anyone had any experience with these units? On the case it describes the unit as a DSP Surround so 'maybe' it's a pre-cursor to the PXA units ???
