Engine block to ground question.

I just did the big 3 on my 5th gen accord and didn't have a problem. I replaced the stock wiring because it was in bad shape, except for the Battery to Alternator. Mine is a V6 however, and I don't know if that changes the wiring much. It was a little confusing to me to see 2 wires on each terminal when the sticky post shows only 1. The negative on mine goes to the chassis only a few inches away, and also goes almost straight down the side of the battery to a bolt on the engine block. Even more confusing to me was a run off the positive going parallel to that same wire. It turns out that next to where the negative terminal connects to the engine, there is another bolt that keeps a wire support in place to hold that wire from the positive terminal to what I am guessing to be the starter (but don't hold me to that). I had to pull the battery and shelf out to get at it, and reshape my ring connector to get it on that bolt. I chose to use all the same points of connection as the stock wiring just to keep it simple for me. Personally, I always try to make one change at a time to make troubleshooting easier. I would finish off your big 3 upgrade and disconnect the 2nd battery and see if your problem still exists. If it does, pull the big 3 and see if it still exists. That will tell you where the problem lies. If it is the 2nd battery, I can't offer any advice, but I am sure someone else here can... I have always heard to upgrade the big 3 before adding another battery or upgrading the alternator...

i added a second battery and it has done wonders for me.

I now have all the needed wire for the big 3, and then some.
