endless bass?

some times when i turn on my car the sub starts going really loud and endlessly until i either turn off the car or turn on the headunit . what gives?

not good. What sub, amp are you useing. WHo hooked it up.

It could also be due to the gain and/or bass boost being set too high...

could be a rca connection.

bad rca's

just bad connection

rca grounding out

easy test, just unplug rca's turn car on see what happens, then hook your ipod directly to the amp and see what happens. should tell you if its tour rca's or not. also check grounds for sure on amps and your head unit.

do you have another head unit to swap in to rule out that being the problem?

Same exact thing happened to me a few years ago, ended up being bad rca inputs on the amp.

its a cvr kicker 12 and a kx 600.1 amp that i installed myself[im very confident its all wired right too]. i did break the tip of the rca cable in the inlet hole that i had to open up the amp and push out a few weeks ago. maybe i did a little damage some how? it seems to be doing it less and less,maybe one out of 20 times i turn it on now but it will probally do it again. is there anything i should check for? also the grounds are good just checked that fully.

yeah well whats it saying ,did i scratch it up or some thing,that now its gonna act up now and then or what? would they be a mess to replace?
