Enclosure Tuning Question

Well I asked the dude who designed and built my enclosure, what it was tuned to, and this was his response:

"Your enclosure is tuned to 45 hz in theory and 35 hz in reponse to your vehicle."

I don't fully understand this. Does he mean it was tuned to 45 hz, and the tuning "changes" to 35 hz with the enclosure in my vehicle? I don't get it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif .

The original tuning of the system will change when it enters your vehicle's airspace but in no way will the actual tuning drop to 35hz in a vehicle. He may have meant that the sub will still play down to 35hz though. Either way, expect things to be peaky around 50-60hz and to not have much low end.

lengthen the port or plug some of it, you probably won't like a 45hz tune for music.

It actually sounds peaky at around 35 hz, then seems to drop off a bit, once it gets lower than that. It sounds really good. Btw the enclosure is for my 2 RE SX 12's and an Orion XTR Pro 2400. I've had it for almost a year, just always wondered about this and finally contacted him the other day.

If it's really tuned to 45hz, it's not going to peak around 35hz. You may just be thinking you're hearing it peak there but either your perception of the actual note is loud there or the enclosure isn't tuned to 45hz.

Can you get all the dimensions of the enclosure and port? By all, I mean interior, exterior, port width, port height, and port panel lengths along with where they are located in the enclosure.
