Enclosure Suggestions/Design

Hi,

I need someone to suggest the type (sealed/vented) of enclosure and ideally someone to design a box if I provide the trunk width. It's for a Diamond Audio TDX 12'' D2 being powered by a Van Gough 1600.2 at 4ohms.

I mostly listen to hip hop and want decent sound quality as well as being **** loud! The sub will be positioned to fire through the ski hatch too.

It's to go in an IS300, if anyone can help reply here or PM me and i'll provide the width and height that it can't be above and you work out the rest!

obviously i'm willing to pay!

My guess is your trunk is about the same size as my BMW 325i. My boxes can be no wider than 30 inches and not any taller than 16 inches. I would go with a box that is 28 inches wide and 15 inches tall with a slot port. Go here and start playing with these calculators and you can do the dimensions pretty easy.

how deep is your box? due to the shape of my trunk about 15 or so inches would look good, which creates 2.79492 cubic feet would this be ok?

how did you work out the slot port dimensions and how do you know how man Hz the box is?

I put in port diameter of 3inches the box volume (as above) the tuning of frequency (I put in 33 Hz) and that gave me a port length of just over 4 inches

On the website for Diamond it recommends a 1.2 for small to 1.65 medium and probably around 2 cubes for the large size. I would go with 1.75 or so tuned to 33 hz. It might be easier for you to use pvc pipes for your ports, 2 3 inch diameter pvc would work fine.

=1.87 net tuned to 33hz with 2 (3) inch(internal diam) pvc ports 16.5 inches long

or you could try the slot port whichever you prefer but these calculations are for pvc ports
