Enclosure reccommendation for mtx 8000

I got an MTX Thunder 8000 series 10 inch single 4 ohm from 04 for super cheap on craigslist. What are your recommendations for a slot ported box. The manual lists specs with only 3" round ports

Really? Come on, can someone point me in the right direction with cross sectional area for the port? I was thinking about doubling it to 14sq in with 1.75 cubes and the recommended tuning for that size enclosure.

I had a set of 7000 10's back in the day. Hit 140db on about 800rms. They were in about 1cf3 vented after port displacement. Tuned to like 35hz.

1.75ft^3 is too big, unless you're working with very little power. Do something like 1.25ft^3 tuned in the 33-35hz area, slot port with 15-20in^2 of port.

Oops, I meant to say 1.25 cubes. The recommended tune for 1.25 is 31hz. It sucks trying to cram a long port in such a tiny box.

what vehicle was this in? the t/s parameters are just about the same between the 7000 and 8000 series

It was a 91 prelude. It was 1ft^3 each after woofer and port displacement. Dont go too large if you have enough power. The car used to exhail really nice.
