Enclosure question

Ok, i've built a few boxes to play with for my PB PR-12d and so far i'm not "thrilled" with any....The first was to see how it did SPL wise, and it wasn't bad at all, just horribly peaky at the tuned frequence(that's to be expected i know). The second was to PB specs for a very flat response, and while i liked it much better than the first box, i wanted to tune it a bit lower, didn't seem to go as low as i would have liked.

The third box now i used this http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/l-ported-box.htm

And i went with a 2" wide port insted of 1.75 it recommended, and i have 34" of port. My issue is this, it sounds good, but still not going low enough for my taste, not very peaky either, but i haven't completely sealed the box so i can make alterations as i go. Its not horrible, but you can hear it when i'm listening to it trunk up and i'm close by.....Now, any ised on if the port is too long or too short, or what can i do to get this sub to go low ported? I have a feeling i might have to go sealed, which i don't care, but someone try and throw me a bone.....Thank //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

ok it wasnt real clear what you were reffering to when you said that you could" hear it".

maybe recheck the calculations and be sure that they are correct first. but with all the air leakes you cant really tell what you have, as far as sound quality!. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
