Is subs up port back always the best?

Was thinking for my expedition build, the amp will be placed on the middle seat laying down, Should i do subs up port forward? I could also do subs forward port forward. Any thoughts?

The problem you would have is interference between the wave going forward and the wave that goes to back over the box then back forward again. Not sure if that makes sense but you would probably see the most interference like that unless you run a wall.

That makes sense, didn't think about it like that. Another question, if I invert the subs would that create interference? There would only be a couple inches of room from the roof

port and subs both facing up is better in some cars.... befor mounting the box sit it in the car and have a listen to what you like the sound of the best, unless your chasing numbers (spl) in that case you'll need a termlab

inverting the subs will also effect the internal volume of your box
