enclosure for atlas's

So I am planning on getting two 12" Atlas's (these)

and I would like to make them louder than my old 12" Type R's (the ones rated at 350 rms) which are powered by a nine.1 and each have 1 cu.ft.

how big should my box be and should i go ported? i still want better sq than my type r's so how should I achieve this?

i've heard that the type rs are some pretty sq oriented subs, so beating your type rs in sq with your avalanche maybe be best approched with a sealed box. however, a ported box tuned low can sound very nice, and may sufficiently fulfill your sq tastes. but like always, it depends on your taste in sound.

If it is for the Atlas, try 2 cubes sealed each, mid Q setting on the second VC.
