The Eminence dont have any midbass. They will get really loud and have no distortion if setup properly, but they just have a different sound.
There is more to god sq than just not distorting. I wouldnt say they sound great, but if you're looking to just get really loud on 100rms and only have $35 a speaker, they work great.
If you're looking for a full, faithful reproduction, look elsewhere. These are meant to be loud as hell while sounding decent. Ive actually messed with mine quite a bit and they sounded pretty **** good. I actually impressed quite a few people who have SQ championships under their belt and quite a few people running Rainbows, Bostons, etc.
I personally run the Eminence in my car, but they work for what I use them for. As for car use, the Alpha6C is actually a car audio speaker. The cone is constructed with different materials, and its overall a very different driver. It also has a 4 ohm impedance. The Regular Alpha6 is meant for PA monitors, but the Alpha6C is meant for vehicles. Because of that, the 6C isnt nearly as loud.
And which Dayton 7" are you guys running? The Reference, Reference sheilded, or Aluminum cone?
