Elemental designs 13av.2 vs Rockford 15" T2 sub

Yeah, don't buy a T2. Even if you had the power to push it, you'd be wasting the effort since it's an overdesigned 4" coil motor that does terrible on the meter. I've owned some, trust me on this.

And that box is terrible. If you're going to get any sort of prefab box, go with something that's been CNC'd like Probox or these guys, it's a whole $10 more than the other one on ebay.

As far as subs, some great suggestions have already been mentioned. FI Q, Mach 5 IXL, AQ Sdc or maybe get something from the classifieds on this forum. But not the eDuh or Fosgate bullshit.

I threw about 2k at a T2 15, the bish wanted more.
....and then it starts smoking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I really wasn't impressed with them at the very start with their pricetag vs. what you get. Hell even one of the ones I was testing had a crack in the basket after just a couple of times mounting it. I know defects happen and all, but //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I've also seen too many guys go out and buy these things thinking they're gonna be the shit in the SPL lanes and end up wondering why they spent so much on them to have their *** handed to them. I'm just working off what i've seen at so many competitions so draw your own conclusions as well. Maybe the OP should buy one and just find out for himself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Never metered the thing, but it got fwking loud in my little 2.5 RS
One of my greek friends said his ears were ringing for 2 days straight
Their are greeks in Russia? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I take your advice seriously. I looked at the Audioque site as well as the mach 5 page. Both seem interesting. I dont like Fi because they dont have a technical support number. I want to be able to speak to someone on the phone if I have questions.

Truthfully, I would of tried the ed 13av.2 had the 11ov.2 not fallen apart. Is their anything else worthwhile for me to look at other than whats already been mentioned?

I can understand you not wanting to deal with FI for their lack of technical support, but honestly the sub works or it doesn't and you have a warranty either way. You're putting it in a prefab box anyways, so no real reason to even get technical with the whole thing.

Or...Perhaps RE SX.... that way you can get a 2x bigger amp later with no issues to the sub. I've got two 18" RE SX's in my wall right now doing 153.x on the termlab at the headrest. Not saying that's a good example of what you'll get of course, but i've played with alot of SX's over the years and they're pretty solid mid-power subs.

these bastards pop out from time to time

**** this is a hard decision for me and I have to order tonight as I have no working subs. I am working with like like 910 watts at 1 ohm. Is this too little power for a re mx12? Is their anything you guys could recommend that is similar to the mx12 if i am indeed giving it too little power?

It would be "ok" with that much power, and you could always upgrade to a bigger amp later on. Everyone does.

the 13av2 will get loud and have awesome sq, think of it as a cheaper alternative to the w7. we all know it can loud. overall the rockford will get louder, but the 13av2 will sound better.

really up to you on what you want?

did you contact ED about it? did you buy directly from them or used? you know you have a 5 year warranty on the subs right?

ed makes solid products, they're just hated on here.
