Electrical for cactus 5k at .5ohm

Im trying to determine what kind of electrical it will take to run a cactus 5k at .5ohm. I have a good enough electrical for 2ohm maybe even 1ohm but since i have 4 D1voil coils with 1000watt rms rating im trying to get there rms to them and 2ohm will be just shy of that. So my other option is .5ohm.

So what will it take for a cactus 5k electrically at .5ohm.

And if your not sure on this please don't post in this thread!!!

I have 2 runs of 1/0 im saying as far as batts go. Cus i have 3 group 31 dekas in the back a g34 under the hood and a dc 230 amp alt but i dont want my voltage to drop under 13

you have to take into consideration how long you are going to be bumping your music, and what volume, you want to have enough reserve in those batts to keep the voltage up

probaby add 2 kinetic 2400s, would be plenty enough to keep the voltage up, this is a daily set up correct?
Yes daily setup and im not gonna put in kinetiks i had them once before liked em but im not paying for them. Plus i dont like mix-and matching batts. I have deka intimidators and im sticking with them.

But thanks!!!

Well 4 15s in a wall i wont be full tilting it for too long i hate hedaches!!! But at least 30 second 75% volume intervals.

yeah so you shoudln't be bad with that, and then just playing it with a decent amount of bass the rest of the time, buy a couple more of the batts you have, but just look at it this way, if something goes, like your alternator its going to cost more to fix and more of a headache because you wanted to cheap out on your batts, so probably another 2 of the dekas and you should be able to keep that voltage up for a good amount of time.

Ight!!!

Do you think i should just run at 2ohm and save my self the chance of jacking **** up until i can get D2 coils to run at 1ohm. Cus i dont want to f-up my amp either.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

its up to you, just dont play it retardedly loud for a long time, and see how the amp is taking it, heating up and what not, the 2 1/0 runs will help. If I were you to be safe and not have to worry how loud you play it, run it at 2 ohms, less power yes but you'll be safe for now, better safe then sorry.

How much of an audible difference do you think there will be from .5ohm to 2ohm

I mean of course you are going to get a significant difference in power between .5 ohms and 2 ohms but if you do not have th correct electrical back up it can put a lot of stress on the amp, so that's why I said see if its heating up and what not...how much rms were you running b4 with that electrical, and was the voltage consistently holding at or above 13?

I was runnin only 2 Deka 9a31s. And i was running a rockford t400.4 on my mids and an audioque 2200.1 at 1ohm. So i was around 2400rms and my voltage never budged 14

well at .5 ohms, you figure the amp will do about 6500-7000 at 14.4v, so at about 13v+ itll do around 5500-6000. Just figure youre going to be doing 5500+ when the voltage is sitting at 13v, and you want it at about 14 im sure, so its going to be doing 2.5 to 3 times RMS then you were running before with the 2 dekas, so like I said you're going to need at least a couple more batts for sure, that's a lot of power to maintain, especially at .5.
