I've been running into more and more people driving electric cars these days...

So what happens when electric cars take over the market?

Obviously we won't be running 5000w amps and subs..

or will we????

We won't need extra baterries cause thats all the car is... batteries.. lol

But extra large alternators??

Anyone ?? i think we should think about the market now and be ahead of the game when or if it arises.

ALL IN ALL THOUGH... . I'll probably still drive the gas guzzling suv...

Cause you know... IM FOR THE BURBANS AND THE CADILLACS.. WITH THE TENS AND THE TWLVES BUMPIN IN THE BACK.. !!

I LOVE CAR AUDIO !! ... . and Video !!

Tesla sucks to drive. Driven it and that chassis in the Exige. Internal combustion will still reign for decades to come, but with more regulations on efficiency.

After that major change comes and goes..

Hydrogen/electric hybrids, solar, alternative fossil fuels.

A bacteria has been developed that produces petroleum as a byproduct. Internal combustion will still be king long past the end of my lifetime. But what do I know, I just work in the automotive industry.

GREEN POWER. . . two blocks from my work.. . they are doing well i hear

I work in the chemical weapons industry - engineer.

Glad to see there are people on here with brains.. not too long ago (2yrs) this site was flooded with ghetto teens with no brains and .. jensen.. lol

Ya thats the name.. they are using bascteria to make deisel or something to that extent... they wont let us get close cause its "top secret tech" they have some cheap rent a cop standing at the gate 24 hrs.. at a little building the size of mcdonalds

Haha I heard about it through some people but never really heard the idea develop.

Not sure on the exact statistic but aren't something like the past 40 years of automotive emissions only like 20% of the total emissions of the past 200 years? Vehicles are getting more efficient. Oh and global warming is a natural cycle =).

69,

In electric cars, they have regenerative breaking. If you hooked an alternator to the motor, it would be a little bit inefficient if you think about it. You put energy in to make the rotor turn, then you put an alternator on the output, which is then geared to the wheels. A) The motor would not constantly be turning, B) The motor would require more energy to turn the alternator and the drive system simultaneously. I would say that the proper use of an inverter for the motor drive as well as regenerative braking would be the only mechanical way to do it. On top of that, you have fairly huge battery banks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif They would be rated for a significant output rating as well.

I completely agree... .also i think its less of animpact than that.... natural cycle ... yes !! I'm glad someone is reading the right things... or at least interpreting the wrong things as wrong. Also global warming is happening... but we will only notice the effects if we broke out a data trend of like 500 yrs and at that it would be minimal... but the effects we will notice will be so far in the future... ummm well yes.... i'm willing let my kids.. kids.... kids... kid's ... kids... kids deal with it.

I've seen a lot of people preaching that global warming is a natural occurrence that have switched to a manmade global warming because it's the hot topic of today. I'm working on a couple developments myself.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
