What do charities do, then? Give me a general description of one.

Charities are composed of volunteers and money that was willingly given to said charity as a donation you are not forced to and you pick the charity. The government doesn't give you a choice, they don't tell you where the money goes and you never had any say in the matter. It is not a charity, it's plain theft.

obviously taxes are needed you can't make a country without them, there would be no roads, mail, law enforcement, etc. but taking your hard earned money and straight giving it to somebody is wrong.

Daddy needs to break out the belt I think... Ron was pretty clean (minus some allegations about him putting out a hate newsletter back in the 80's....) But who the hell knows if that is true. I agreed with his Foreign policy 100000%...

And yes, we wouldn't have a country without our government. The government provides a product. That product is our society, and it needs to be paid for. Our government has grown a lot in the past 100 years and our society is very different because of it, and for the better.

And I guess if you find it morally wrong I can't argue against that. Personally, if someone with hundreds of thousands, if not millions, in their bank account gets taxed a lot more than someone who barely makes $30,000 a year, I'm perfectly fine with that. The millionaire will have about the same quality of life and that second person can live a lot more comfortably. I find that morally correct.

However, the benefits of wealth redistribution to the economy are concrete and factual. Is giving that up, a stable, thriving middle class, worth what you think is right or wrong?

first off the election we just had where 48% of the popular vote went to romney, nearly half, clearly don't want socialism so yea no say in the matter.

second why should that millionaire who earned his own way be happy with giving away his hard earned money that wasn't given to him it's just like said above why would any care about making money if someone else will just give it to them.

This wealth redistribution shit is why a lot of the wealthier people in this country are going to say good bye and go to other countries that still believe in liberty and economic freedoms......This country wants to punish high achievers....That's ok after the majority of the high achievers are gone the freeloaders can pick each others pockets........I personally want everyone in this country to have the same opportunities but those opportunities should be earned not taken from someone else......I have busted my AZZ for 20 plus years now to get where I am in life and I be damned if someone is going to take it away from me just because they think they can or they think I don't deserve what I have PERSONALLY EARNED... Ask someone that has immigrated here from CUBA how that socialism shit works..............peace
