Man found a 1997 mountaineer with 170k on it. But has the ford 302 in it (the ones that last forever) Anyways they had 1550 on window(when i was driving by yesterday0. The door handle is messed up and he goes as it sits will do it for 1350. but it is out of gas but i assure you it runs good. i was like no thanks. he goes 1300 then as I was walking out the door. I go not till I hear it run. he goes ok come back tomorrow (now today) and you can drive it. I was I take a hell of a test drive to make sure nothing is wrong( I am skeptical of the price. he goes go for it. I have faith in it. So today come back. Took it for a test drive. I dogged the hell out of it couldn't find anything wrong. had it out for a while. checked for leaks. fluids everything normal. ****** shifts perfect. Up and down and under load. no motor noises. A/C works great. Even took it up to 90mph to check front end. Was tight and no wobbles or anything. Rode smooth as hell at 90. I can't find anything wrong with this freaking thing. And I tried and tried and tried. ...... So of course I ended up buying it scratching my head like wtf I have to be getting goosed somehow in this. I mean he was honest saying he buys them at the auction (like almost all used car lots) says just flips them quick for money. Even if that is the case. and even with this being a V8 in the era of gas costing more than a top end hooker in vegas ... Still very cautious ....... Maybe it was one of the repos a lot was trying to get rid of. Wish me luck but body wise it is in perfect shape except the bumper and the paint is about a 9 out of 10. just a small spot of surface rust over the wheel well. maybe 2 inches.. Anybody else get deals like this before? how did it turn out for you?

bought my jeep for 1060 dollars, drove fine but had a bad tire rub when you turned it deep, made people think it was messed up so no one bid on it.

they had mud tires on it and it not jacked at all :/...

sold the jeep though as I needed gas money for my daily driver.

good find it you like it bro.

bought a chrysler cirrus with a "water leak" for $100 from a friend ... bad door, car was in overall "decent" shape for a 10 year old car for $100 ... i mean what can you expect.

$130 water pump, $50 for a new door and $40 to fix the bumper (thanks $11 cans of paint + leftover bondo), and some elbow grease and new belts, etc while i was at it ... i had a nice running car for

11,000 miles later i sold it to my cousin who needed a beater after i put it in the ditch twice (once in a really bad snowstorm) and once playing with the ebrake lol ... best $100 i ever spent.

I just dont understand how ppl need $100 so bad they would sell a vehicle that need just a little bit of work..... maybe its just me tho

Bought my isuzu amigo running perfectly fine no leaks or whatnot for 500$ flat

150xxx miles on it but ran great. It was supposed to be a temp car but I needed up driving it for over 1 year with no problems besides i fuel pump replacement.

That car more than payed itself off and it was fun as hell offroading to. took quite a beating and doing little wheelies poping the clutch was fun =)

then my dad traded it to someone for $1000 worth of labor

talk about an investment

Volvo has the car with the most miles ever put on it, and its still going.... 2.5 million miles and the owner is paid $.50 per mile to drive it.... and all this is with no repair cept for your usual stuff
