good luck with your doors.

I'll be adding my IDQ8's to my doors in the next few weeks. But I have to say... mounting them to the sheet metal is the easy part. Lets see pics with the interior panel back in place (modified I assume), then I'll be impressed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
you likey now? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/satan.gif.9c6a335ed7aeeed3ee273e573f1fcaac.gif

hot. How deep is the mounting depth and how deep of an MDF baffle did you need to make em fit?
75mm deep (2.95")

and i had to make 3 1\2 rings to lift it off the door and tons of caulk and aluminum tape to seal up the little holes where the door panel was not flush. i had to trim some plastic crap inside the door panel down (not noticable on the outside cept for the speaker grill that i will be fabbing\replacing later. for now, just holes lol.

little tip. as far as non hardening modeling clay goes, im never using that shit again. i bought some stuff at michaels hobby and the shit melted all over the inside of the door panels. its silicone for me from now on.

they do lay the dick down when it comes to midbass tho. i just wish more songs had good midbass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

thanks snoopdan. but i kinda want something a little nicer looking. i guess i could put some grill clother over it and mount it from the back side of the door panel and put a rubber gasket round the edge of the cut. we shall see. im off to pepboys to buy some sort of a gromet for the lip on the door panel. its bugging me.

nice work, looks.....

loud.

Very clean install, looks good.

Rope caulk works much better than modeling clay. Doesn't melt, isn't oily, and stays pliable. Look for it in the weatherstripping section of HD, Lowes, etc...

ill do that computerman.

nother quick shot. i got some U shaped grommet shit that those cheesy people put on the edges of their doors and crap from pepboys. works well, has a bead of gooey shit to keep it in place. not the nicest thing ever, but looks a hell of a lot better than jigsawed doors lawl

hard to see, but when i get back to virginia ill take some better pixcures.

and thanks for the compliments everyone. so now you all know you can fit ~3" deep by 8" diamater midbass in volkswagon 2002~2005 golf\jetta\gti

Looks good. I barely jammed 6.5" Kicker SS speakers in my 2002 Civic -- had to block up the window a bit just to fit those.

There is a guy that goes to most of the nSPL shows who does fiberglass work... he has 4x Memphis 8" coaxials in each door of his Nissan 350z. Oh yah, and he fit 2x Eclipse TI Pro 18s in there too... ported.

i thought i was in the same boat as you. i barely fit 3" deep image dynamics CX62's in my doors. i had to raise those suckers up like 3" to get them in the doors. i dont know how they fit in there. i seriously cant comphrend fitting the 8's in there tho! lol. at 28\each i couldnt go wrong with getting them. good fr graph, good reviews, great price, shallow enough, well built (so they look). im quite happy with them thus far with zero EQ.

now that 350z... thats cramming some shit in a car lol.

i bet mine will sound better though!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks for the compliments too.
