ehh... somethings just not right... advice please

hey whatsup...

a few nights ago i picked up some new equipment from a user on here.

1 12" kicker L7 in a box made for it

1 12" 13av.2 Elemental Designs in box made for it

Rockford Fosgate t5001bd (birthsheet says 1036w @ 1ohms)

alright so, i installed the Kicker L7 in my girlfriends 03 cougar, i used all 8 guage wiring, and used a crossfire cfa302 (300w) amp... wired up at 1 ohm...

then, i installed My ed 13av.2 in MY car with the rockford t5001bd... all 0/1 guage wiring, in my 04 tiburon...

now... guess which one is louder?

somehow... the kicker is SMOKIN' the 13av.2 out of the water... something is just not right... the 13av.2 has 1036 watts going to it, and the L7 has no more than 350...

the Kicker is WAAAYYY louder... any ideas of to what i may have done wrong?

i feel that the 13av.2 should be alot louder than it is, and definately louder than te L7...

and... forgot to mention, the gain on the cfa302 that is powering the Kicker L7 is not even halfway up, and the rockford t5001bd powering the 13av.2 is 3/4s the way up... dont you think the 13av.2 would be WAY louder than the L7?

the box designs are exactly the same, just ones for a kicker, and ones for the 13av.2... i drive an 04 tiburon, its a small car, 2 dr coupe.

Probably the box design. Are they ported? Sealed? Is your sub wired correctly?

if the boxes are exactly the same try getting a box thats built for the specific driver

yea, i believe my sub is wired up correctly, and it cant be the box design becasue the boxes are the exact same design, only thing different is the holes, one is square for the kicker, and the other is round for the 13av.2..... ported...

im beginning to think that it may be my HU, it lacks alot of sub control.... this is what im currently using, i dont like the brand, but i dooo like this CD player... is that a possibility?

regardless, the design of the boxes are very very close, and that wouldnt make the sound that much louder/quieter

it could be or it could be THE BOX an l7 and a 13av.2 prolly dont have the same specs for a box so build abox for the specs of the 13av.2 then report back
