Effect of sound system on the mileage of the car..

Hey I just got 2 Kicker 15" 2000w each

so 4000w power and a 5500w amp

and i was really curious to find out if this kind of power would decrease the fuel efficiency of the car?

i have an amp alternator.. yellow top battery .. and big 3 wiring.. but this question kept poppin up in my head

The sound waves in the car help push the car down the road, so you get better gas mileage.

It shouldn't effect gas mileage. The only way it could would be adding weight to your car. Say you have several heavy subs and a heavy box, this could weigh your car down 500 more pounds.

lol no i think the only way the system would harm gas mileage is by burning up the alt/battery or by wieght as buck said... and you'd actually gain gas mileage technically cause your not gonna be able to move anywhere lol
