So I ordered a 1200.1 Viper refurb last week, so the day before yesterday I got rid of my hifonics 1000D. Now today I get an email saying it's no longer in stock. So now I have to buy a new amp, I've got about 300 dollars to work with and I was wondering which would be better for 2 solo baric L5 12's. A Hifoics 1500 or 1800. I seriously bet the 1500 puts out about 1200 and the 1800 puts out about 1500. I've read the kx1200.1 puts out about 1500, and maybe the solo's are underrated as well, so I was just wondering which would actually push the solo's(600rms per sub) better. Btw, I believe the hifonics are overrated because as said above I owned the 1000D wired at 1ohm and there was barely a difference between it and my rockford 401s.

2x600rms = 1200w rms

at 12.5-13.5v the 1500 should be able to push that no matter what

i wouldn't be so quick to believe that the hifonics numbers are that far off from what they say. my bx1500 i just bought absolutely blows away my old school rockford 800 that did 996 watts on the sheet, and i know it takes more than a couple hundred watts to "really feel" a difference. just my opinion.
